“Dreams”

I am the one who dreams the impossible
I am the one who forgives the unforgivable
I am the one who believes in a probable cause
I am the one who makes her life mean something more.
I look at life from the eyes of no regrets
I look at the meaning behind every story
I look at strangers with love and acknowledgment
I look at one’s shoes and wonder if my feet will fit.
I dream of a place where every being can survive as this
I dream of more possibilities than others may believe in
I dream of the truth and the reasons behind it
I dream of a much more beautiful reality.
I will never cease dreaming.

“The Clock Watcher” (A Repost of my own)

As I sit here watching the clock,

Time seems like it’s moving too slow,

All that’s left to do is dream about,

Is how I could have so much more.

Life is only fair when you make it that way,

Until another day passes and you’ve turned your head away,

I feel my life is just moving so slow,

If I don’t start to run I may never know.

And it’s over now,

I must move on somehow,

No looking back,

To the place I left behind.

So I still sit watching the clock,

But the time means nothing to me,

All that’s left to do is live my dream,

Just the way it was supposed to be.

“Backed Into a Corner”

It started with a dream last night,

And remains in my head like a hoarder,

This thought is fusing in my mind,

I am backed into a corner.

Why have I lately thought so much?

A thought which appeared out of thin air,

A thought that I cannot touch,

I know the answer that lies there.

I do not want these thoughts again,

I want to live free of this mind bomb,

A thought that has become so bland,

While I appear to the world as calm.

I fear I will never be absolutely gratified,

But isn’t this the human way?

I do not think a life can be stratified,

So perfect, organized, and array.

I must move the obstacles out of my corner,

Therefore I can escape,

I would like for my life to have no borders,

Can anyone relate?

“Clock Watcher”

I ORIGINALLY WROTE THIS IN SONG FORMAT TO PLAY ON MY GUITAR, BUT I HAVE DECIDED TO SHARE IT AS A POEM:

As I sit here watching the clock,

Time seems like it’s moving too slow,

All that’s left to do is dream about,

Is how I could have so much more.

Life is only fair when you make it that way,

Until another day passes and you’ve turned your head away,

I feel my life is just moving so slow,

If I don’t start to run I may never know.

And it’s over now,

I must move on somehow,

No looking back,

To the place I left behind.

So I still sit watching the clock,

But the time means nothing to me,

All that’s left to do is live my dream,

Just the way it was supposed to be.

Mistakes… Too late,

What do I do if I have to wait?

Last chance, to take his hand,

One more dance to find out where we stand.

I take this time,

To close my eyes,

To see precisely what I did wrong in my life.

Suspended by my broken energy,

I never knew what he truly thought of me.

Please take my hand,

For one last dance,

Just understand,

Where we stand.

Who I am is a never-ending mystery,

To anyone and everyone, including me.

I grip a pass to a ride and it’s called “My Life,”

I wish you’d hold me tight so we can dance all night.

To feel your passion and soft whispers in my ear,

I hold this image so I know you’ll forever be here.

Oh, never let me go,

Oh, please never let me go.

“Take My Hand”

A mother’s true love,

Shows no boundary,

You provide to cold hands a glove,

You help me feel my safety.

Your smile lights up my day,

When I am feeling down,

You teach me another way,

To turn my life around.

You are my angel in disguise,

Always lending a helping hand,

The glistening in your eyes,

You are my footprints in the sand.

I am more grateful than you know,

For everything you do,

I see your bright aura glow,

My angel, my mother… I Love You!

“A Mother’s Unconditional Love” Dedicated to my mother, Jean Carr

“Vision”

Looking in the mirror,

I look once… I look twice,

Yet, I don’t see an image,

Until I close my eyes.

What is this vision?

Dreams with no meaning,

What shall I do,

With this I am seeing?

Where am I headed?

Seems like miles from gain,

Why am I embedded,

In a mound of pain?

So much confusion,

So much to ask,

Is this just an illusion?

Or possibly a mask?

I am lost in my own eyes,

Submersed in translation,

What can I call mine?

It seems there is no explanation.

An aura of bright light,

And this gives me a clue,

Should I live this life,

Always knowing what to do?

Do I hold my belief,

Where fate results in decision?

Or will it become a relief,

If I give into precision?

Light versus dark,

Joy versus Fear,

What will I embark?

Which of my fates are near?

So silent… So deadly,

So sad yet, so true,

Life is a medley,

Only meant for you.
